Policies and Procedures
In order to be successful in any class, students must be disciplined and ready to work hard. Below, are some general guidelines I follow during the school day to ensure everyone has an equal opportunity to learn.
CLASSROOM EXPECTATIONS
 1. Be prepared everyday
2. Be respectful and courteous to others
3. Be in your seats, ready to go, when the bell rings.    Please take care of bathroom, nurse, etc. outside    of class
4. Be excited about learning math and participateÂ
How will you be GRADED??
Everyday you should expect to learn something new, so in order to be successful you need to pay attention and take notes. Assessment of your understanding will be delivered in a variety of ways.Â
1. Daily work – 15%.-        this entails homework, classwork, and participation. All work in this class needs to be neat and legible, in PENCIL. If you do not turn in an assignment, you must turn it in within 2 class days for a grade not to exceed 70. After this point, you may no longer turn in late work. For an excused absence, you have 2 days to make up the assignments for full credit. Assignments will be posted and made readily available for students upon their return, therefore, they are responsible for all notes, assignments, etc.Â
 2. Quizzes – 15%-        Quizzes are fair game from day one, you may be quizzed, with or without warning, over anything that we have discussed during the year. If you miss or fail a quiz, it cannot be made up, but any missing quizzes will be replaced with the next test that corresponds with that material.
3. Tests – 70%-        There will be 2 - 3 unit tests every six weeks, as well as a comprehensive 6 weeks exam. If a student misses a test, they must make it up within 48 hours. After this time, the student will recieve a zero for that test. Also, there are no “re-tests” for a student who fails an exam. Test corrections may be completed during tutoring hours for an extra daily grade, but the test grade itself may not change. The lowest test grade every six weeks will be DROPPED. This includes any missing tests, failing tests, etc.Â
